SUPER SATURDAY STEM EXPO 2016

Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Expo, Hosted in HARLEM, NY
On May 21st, 2016 Community School District 5 in conjunction with Harlem Children’s
Zone, Abyssinian Development Corporation, and the Boys and Girls Club of Harlem will host
their 8th annual SUPER SATURDAY STEM EXPO in Harlem.

Designed for New York City youth and their families the Super Saturday STEM Expo
features hands on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) activities and
demonstrations.

This year, in addition to the STEM projects that will be presented by Harlem’s own District 5
school students grades PRE K-12th, interactive booths will be set up by, museums, science
and technology centers, colleges, non‐profits, government agencies and more! The annual
math and chess tournaments will set off the expo followed by a series of Coding Seminars.
There will be interactive demonstrations and dissections, aviation simulations, robotics
competitions, raffles, the BIO BUS, Google, and a big surprise Mad Science Finale!

Since 2008 this event has grown tremendously and with the help of NYC parents, teachers,
STEM professionals, community based organizations, and community leaders this event will
continue to thrive and be beneficial to our children who are our future.

SUPER SATURDAY STEM EXPO – MAY 21st 2016 – 11AM – 3PM THE HARLEM ARMORY –
40 West 143rd ST (Btw Lenox and Fifth Avenue) “The STEM Expo provides our schools with
an opportunity to showcase the rigorous projects, talents and aptitude of our students. Each
year the event is engaging for all participants,” stated District Five Superintendent Gale
Reeves. “I am also most appreciative of the support of Abyssinian Development
Corporation, Harlem Children’s Zone, The Boys and Girls Club or Harlem and all
partnering organizations which are supporting this event.”
